In my life, everyone has always known me as the 'Good Guy'. Some might even say I was an 'Angel', but we have all also heard the saying 'Nice Guys Finish Last'. Truthfully, in this testing process, I began to get frustrated with trying to do the right thing. It seemed like no matter how patient and considerate I was, no matter how much I attempted to act honorably, things never went in my favor.
Along my divine detour, this complimentary advice was starting to persuade me to redirect my thoughts and actions. I was sick of hearing, 'You're A Better Man than Me' because it was getting me nothing and nowhere on the journey. While I appreciated the attempts, I was tired of being the best man. Yet, through it, the Lord reminded me, "Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." – Galatians 6:9. The single goal to strive for in life is to be and do better than yesterday, and the only person you're ever in competition with is yourself.
